The views and opinions expressed by Klamath Land Back Tours, LLC are those of a private company and do not reflect the views or positions of The Klamath Tribes.

On the Klamath Tribes’ Homelands, the Indigenous People who are the original stewards of the Land are facing constant settler-colonial violence through the ongoing Indian Wars, which have never ended. They’ve turned into the Klamath Basin’s historic drought and continued Water Wars, which is one of the biggest Water Wars in US history. The War now looks like local Agriculture’s water theft, constant violent threats and carried out assaults; the unsustainable and destructive cattle ranching; racialized wealth inequality leading to unstable housing and houselessness; escalating wildfires due to state and federal mismanagement i.e. lumber over-harvesting; and the resulting extinction of the Klamath Tribes’ traditional foods - the Cwaam, Koptu, and Yen suckerfish. The suckerfish are fighting to survive in the Klamath Lake that’s now dying. Colonial erasure of the Klamath, Modoc and Paiute People, environmental racism, and a broken Treaty are at the forefront.

The Highway 97 corridor cuts through Klamath Territory and gets 1 million + uninvited tourists and settlers every year. Klamath Land Back Tours was established to assert that this Territory is that of the Modoc, the Klamath, and Paiute People. As they struggle with the continued problems brought by colonization, Klamath Land Back Tours disrupts the local travel guide, and how the uninvited guests move through their Homelands. Klamath Land Back Tours offers you a detour into the reality of many Tribal People and provides an opportunity to understand a more complex and inclusive narrative. Klamath Land Back Tours is a redirection away from the idea and fantasy that we are no longer here, and that you are entitled to our Land.

Their most sacred sites are now federal and state parks and private land. With over 1 million uninvited tourists and settlers who access this Territory each year, these large droves are desecrating sacred places while the Indigenous People are being erased. Klamath Land Back Tours honors and claims the Territory with the aim of protecting and helping secure the future of its Indigenous People while reminding you, the uninvited colonizers that this is Klamath Land. It always will be. You are not entitled to the Land. You are not entitled to its resources. Instead, you are participating in its ecological collapse.

Proceeds go to THE AMBO FUND, to the development of Indigenous-led tours, and to Klamath Land Back initiatives. Now is your opportunity to acknowledge whose Land you are on, to stand in solidarity with the Indigenous Community, and to give back. The Modoc, Klamath, and Paiute Tribes are the original and rightful stewards. And they are fighting for their survival.
